Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) allocated additional CDBG funds (referred to as CDBG-CV funds) to the village to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The Village of Schaumburg recognizes that during this time, a number of individuals and families may be financially impacted. The village is continuing to fund programs to provide rent, mortgage and utility assistance to residents experiencing a temporary economic hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Financial assistance is provided for past due rent, mortgage or utility payments. Applications will be reviewed on a first come first serve basis until all funds have been spent.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title-one\">Program Eligibility<\/h2>\n<p>Eligibility for financial assistance is considered on a case-by-case basis. The minimal eligibility for consideration is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-green mb-3\">\n<li>Must be a resident of incorporated Schaumburg;<\/li>\n<li>Must be listed as tenant on the lease agreement or owner on the mortgage. (If there is a cosigner that does not live in the home, then the applicant may not be eligible to receive assistance.
