The purpose of these guidelines is to reduce the negative noise impact to residential areas east of the airport. When departing, the village requests that pilots use Runway 29 (westbound departure) whenever safe and possible to do so. If pilots must use Runway 11 for an eastbound departure, they should use the guidelines outlined below to reduce the impact of noise to adjacent neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<p>The Village of Schaumburg thanks the public for following these guidelines to help us stay committed to reducing the negative impact of noise to the village\u2019s airport neighbors.<\/p>\n<p>For questions or comments regarding noise related to the airport, contact <a href=\"mailto:etrydal@schaumburg.com\">Airport Manager<\/a> &#8211; 847-923-3778.<\/p>\n<h5>When departing Runway 11 \u2013 Fixed Wing<\/h5>\n<ol class=\"order-lists mb-3\">\n<li>Fly runway heading upwind<\/li>\n<li>When safe to do so, sidestep to the right<\/li>\n<li>Follow railroad tracks and extend upwind to Medinah Road<\/li>\n<li>Turn left crosswind to Elgin-O\u2019Hare Expressway<\/li>\n<li>Turn downwind and follow Elgin-O\u2019Hare Expressway back to the airport<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5>When departing Runway 11 \u2013 Rotary Wing<\/h5>\n<ol class=\"order-lists mb-3\">\n<li>Fly runway heading upwind<\/li>\n<li>At the end of the runway turn north crosswind and remain west of Mitchell Boulevard<\/li>\n<li>Turn downwind and follow Elgin-O\u2019Hare Expressway back to the airport<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5>Other General Noise Abatement Recommendations to All Pilots<\/h5>\n<ul class=\"list-green mb-3\">\n<li>Intersection take-offs are not permitted. Please use the full runway length.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid touch and go maneuvers. Full stop landings are preferred.
