Bike to School Day

Bike to School Day is a specially designated day designed to encourage parents and students to define safe bicycling or walking routes to and from school. The Village of Schaumburg and school staff hand out small prizes and pencils to students who participate by bicycling or walking to school that morning.
When a school signs up for this event, the hope is to encourage participation that will sustain bicycling and walking habits beyond the one-day event. Bicycling and walking to school offers many health and environmental benefits for children, improves pedestrian safety, and helps to reduce traffic and congestion.
With assistance from each school and Parent Teacher Associations, the main goal is to display the benefits to the environment, health, and traffic congestion from bicycling and walking to school. Please visit Walk, Bike, & Roll to School for more information on biking and walking to school or download a Walk & Bike to School Flyer developed by the Village of Schaumburg.
Upcoming Events
