Adeyemo Aderinto (KJW)
Lovingly memorialized by Ryan Chapel on February 23, 2016
Erin wo, ajanaku sun bi oke..
(Gen 2:3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it, He rested from all His work, which God had created and made.)
In all my years and travels, I have never met a man who loved God and his children as much as you did Dad. You lived an exemplary life, always choosing the path of peace no matter the circumstances. Not just because you were my dad. Those that met you have spoken of you uprightness and moral wealth in a nation bereft of such.
You sought God daily and like David, took delight in the word of God. You shared this ministry with many that came in contact with you, never for personal glory or financial gain.
You battled with cancer for 17 years and died at an old age. Through it all, you maintained your faith. On reflection, it takes the mercy and grace of God to live that long with a disease that has taken the younger and stronger, in the twinkle of an eye.
Words alone are not enough to express my gratitude for all the sacrifices you made for us. You denied yourself so many pleasures, just so we would not go without. If I have one regret, it is that I couldn't do more for you before you departed. I take succour in the human confidence that you are at the right side of our Lord Jesus. If ever there was anyone deserving of that position, you, Adeyemo deserves that spot.
Sir. Prof. Rev Adeyemo A Aderinto (KJW), prince of Owu, omo alade, omo ta refon, omo egbeji owu, thank you for the honour of being your son. May God give me the strength of your character and the grace to walk the path of honour and dignity that you have laid ahead of me.
Sun re o, Omo’ba Adeyemo Akanbi.

Joann Tomasi
Lovingly memorialized by Becky Tomasi on February 23, 2016
Loving mother, devoted wife. Joann was born and raised in Lima Ohio. She loved music from an early age and as a young teen ager she would sing with her uncles at local venues. She was a big band singer in the early 50’s, and lived and performed in Chicago.
After moving back to Lima she met the love of her life, Max Tomasi, gave up singing professionally, and settled down to raise their family. Over the years they lived in Toledo, Mequon Wi., Kenosha Wi., and South Bend In. before moving back to Toledo.
Joann was very gregarious and outgoing and made friends everywhere she went. Her door was always open and the house was always filled with friends and family. She was a wonderful cook and never let anyone leave on an empty stomach.
She suffered a number of health issues in her later years, but rarely complained. Her pat answer was always “I’m okay” or “I’ll be alright.” She was fiercely independent and stubborn as the day was long. She was very protective, especially of her children and grandchildren, and seemed to care deeply for everyone in her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Max, son Jeff and step-son Greg. Surviving family members include her sons Michael, Mark, Tony and John, ten grandchildren, her sister Bernice and numerous other nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo oh 43614 at 10AM Saturday February 27. Luncheon will be held immediately following mass at the Holiday Inn/ Perrysburg (10630 Fremont Pike, Perrysburg, OH 43551, 11:30-3:00pm).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in her memory.

Felipa Urquizo
Lovingly memorialized by Sydnie Barcenas on February 22, 2016
FELIPA URQUIZO (-SOSA).....sweet and funny mom, 92 years young.
Said farewell in her loving home in North Las Vegas.
When her beautiful heart finally gave in on a Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
Her life started as the beginning of an adventure in 1923.....when she was given different birth dates. We had fun celebrating twice a year.
She always celebrated May 26 for her birthday, but official documents had conflicting dates of
September 8, 1923. Then when she officially became a proud American Citizen, she was suddenly given September 18 as her official birthday. This only gave us reason to celebrate every single one for Princess mom! She's proudly voted as an intelligent Democrat since becoming an American, and hopes people don't vote for bigotry support.
She was born in a little farm outside of a little town of Santo Niño, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Father was Pascuol Urquizo and Mother was Juanita Sosa-Calamaco.
She had an older brother Juan, sisters Santos and Adela. She was always surrounded and loved by friends.
Her first husband in Mexico, gave her a little boy, that died at the age of 1 year, and a little girl, Blanca Estella, who died at the age of 3. Thankfully she got away from a bad life to create a better life here in the U.S. working for wonderful people that help her create a better life for herself in her mid 20's. She later met the love of her life Agustin Barcena, a Spanish/Portuguese descendent (rest his soul), who gave her two children, a son and later a daughter, Beatrice Urquizo (aka Sydnie Bette Barcenas). Both children grew to serve the U.S by joining the military, Sydnie being a retired Army Veteran, therefore making her a proud military mother. Felipa's university educational training was to be the best mother she could be. She got the mother of the year award many times.
Until her arm got severely injured, she was a hard working "domestic artist". She concentrated her motherly energy into raising her children and later in helping raise her grandkids
She is survived by her grandchildren Nicholas James Urquizo and Mariangela Victoria Urquizo. She dearly loved them.
Though she's live in El Paso, Texas, where her children were born, she then moved to San Francisco, California to ensure them a better and intelligent upbringing. Cities she's lived in consist of El Paso, Texas to San Francisco, California, then followed her son to Sacramento, California; when her daughter saved her by moving her to Augsburg, Germany with her. She never left the care of her daughter or sometimes her side again. She ended back to El Paso, Texas, then to Sacramento, California where her daughter bought her a lovely condo. Missing her daughter, she eventually moved to Lacey, Washington to live closer to her daughter, where they finally moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Due to her kids extensive and various military service, she tagged along for the ride with each of them when she could. She spent a short period of time in Guam with her son and grandkids Nicholas and Mariangela. But most of her "Military service" time was spent with her traveling with her devoted daughter all over the U.S., as well as Europe. She visited countries and cities in Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, England, and even walked through the German Brandenburg Gate - from West Berlin to East Berlin and back. She was an adventurer. The best part of all of her travels, was when she took a spontaneous trip with her daughter through the different towns of Italy, staying in Venice, then Florence, and eventually Rome. She was ecstatic to attend a live mass with Pope John Paul II inside the Vatican City, and be bless by him. She also enjoyed the simple life of crocheting and knitting, so has a wonderful collection of special items. Her final years were spent with her loving daughter, enjoying theatre, dance, and music in the various locations in Las Vegas. She has received the gift of seeing her favorite singer Andrea Bocelli in a live closeup concert, where she loved singing along to most of his songs. Her final days were just spent being loved by her one and only child and devoted daughter Sydnie Bette, who misses her dearly.

There is a special bond that a father has with his son. That bond builds strength over the time and events that each of us are fortunate enough to share together in our lives. I am privileged, honored, and extremely lucky to be one of my fathers children. As I reflect over the years that we shared together, he was a great Dad.
He always lead by example, and taught me numerous life lessons of what it takes to become a man:
-Take care of, protect, and be the provider for your family, and always give them unconditional love;
-Work hard, and rewards will always follow;
-Show respect and courtesy to others;
-Trust in your instinct, as it usually gives you the right answer;
-Always strive to do your best, no matter what you are doing;
-Be honest and loyal to your friends;
-Don't ever be afraid to make mistakes, just make sure you always learn from them;
-Have an opinion, but make sure it is thought through
-It's OK to dream big, just make sure you maintain a sense of reality;
-Being stupid or ignorant is never an excuse;
-Spend wisely, but it is fine to treat yourself on occasion;
-Being polite and using your manners will always get you far;
-Smile, find humor, and try to laugh often;
-Don't blame others. Accept the responsibilities and consequences of your actions;
-Respect nature and the planet, and admire what God has created;
-Be positive, supportive, and always give encouragement;
-Share with others who are less fortunate, and give without asking anything in return;
-Watch your language;
-Be prepared;
-It's never OK to lie, cheat or steal
-Be brave, confident, and strong in your convictions;
-Always arrive on time. That is an easy way to show courtesy and respect;
-Aim to do the right thing, and resist the temptation when you know it is wrong;
-Set a positive example so it may be imitated by others;
-Always stay truthful to your word;
-Immerse yourself and respect the world's different cultures, religions, traditions, and people;
-Use deodorant and brush your teeth, or you will never have a girlfriend;
-And lastly, listen to your Mother. She is always right. These are lessons of my father that has provided a strong foundation and platform for me to build upon into manhood. Affectionately called "Pops" by me and will dearly be missed but never forgotten the legacy of your teachings and blessings will live on. A Man of action and few words who God took the time to share one of his beloved sons with us and he shinned his light unto his family and became a anchor, and a rock a true sign of love and stability. Leading by example caring for the people of community and was a pillar of Care, Dignity and Respect. Your legacy will live on in all the lives that you have touched and impacted and we will honor your memory and celebrate your life we love you and miss you thinking of you always.

Lois Joan North
Sept. 1, 1933 – Feb. 16, 2016
Lois Joan North died Feb. 16, 2016, at home in Windsor, Colo., after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was 82.
Joan was born Sept. 1, 1933, in Morden, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of Edward and Christine Wessler. She grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, with her sister Connie and brother Paul. She graduated from Delta Secondary School and received her teacher’s degree from Hamilton Teacher’s College in Hamilton.
On Aug. 27, 1955, she married Richard Ralph North at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Hamilton, Ont.
Joan worked as a grade school teacher in Kingston, Ont., while Dick attended Queens University Medical School. After Dick graduated from Medical School, the couple moved to Houston, Texas, for his residency.
The first three of four daughters were born in Houston. The family then moved to Dallas where Dick joined a neurology practice and Joan focused on raising their four daughters.
The family lived in Dallas for 45 years, from 1968 to 2013. Joan was an active member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church in Richardson. She taught Sunday School there for several years.
She was a volunteer for many years and many organizations. She was a docent with the Dallas Zoo; she helped plan weddings at the Dallas Arboretum and delivered Meals on Wheels. She also was a Girl Scout troop leader.
She enjoyed playing tennis, traveling with her family and the company of her tight group of female friends. “She was the embodiment of a ‘true friend.’”
In the 1980s, Joan became a certified Realtor and worked for 15 years in the real estate industry in Dallas.
After retirement, Joan and Dick enjoyed international travels with friends as well as visiting their daughters and eight grandchildren. They spent summers in the mountains of Frisco, Colo., for the past 18 years and spent winters in Dallas. In 2013, they left Texas and moved to Water Valley Senior Living in Windsor, Colo., to be closer to two daughters and six of their grandchildren.
