She is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter, dancer, model, actress, and fashion designer that came such a long way from where she began as the lead vocalist of her family oriented band, Selena Los Dinos. Named the "Top Latin Artist of the '90s" and "Best Selling Latin Artist of the Decade" by Billboard Magazine, for her fourteen top-ten singles, which included seven number-one hits, she was often referred to as The Queen of Tejano music and seen as the Mexican equivalent of the US's Madonna.

Whitney Houston

With her marriage to singer Bobby Brown in 1992 and ensuing drug use, Houston's career got off track. She eventually made a comeback with 2009's I Look to You and also co-starred in the the film remake Sparkle. Houston died from accidental drowning in a hotel on February 11, 2012.
