Sid Dines
Lovingly memorialized by Bear Dines on November 18, 2016
There are a few extraordinary people in this world, individuals who spread their love, wisdom and infectiousness for life to all they meet. Sid Dines was one of these. Born in Cambridge, MA to Colorado state Senator Allen Dines and Audrey Kay Dines in 1947, Sid decided early on to avoid the constrictions of an ordinary life hemmed in by rules and social conventions. He grew up wild, pushing against authority and rebelling against the norms of public and private schools to finally find his place in the U.S. Marine Corp. The Marines helped define Sid and gave him the discipline he sought and the purpose he desired. Sid took this experience and parlayed it into a life of international adventure and excitement, flying and sailing around the world, and establishing deep and abiding friendships that shaped him and shaped those he encountered. Sid found the love of his life, Connie, when he asked to be introduced to her at a travel party in Denver– the ultimate risk taking experience that only reinforced his understanding and conviction that smart risks hold great value. In marriage and partnership, Sid settled down enough to raise a son and daughter that over the years both challenged him and deeply fed his soul. His children, Bear and Kaylin, in equal part with Connie became the central and abiding core of his life and his purpose. Driven by a dread of complacency, one day Sid woke up and decided that time living overseas would be good for “the family” and lo and behold, they moved to Barcelona for a year – a family adventure that provided a lifetime love of Spanish food, wine and friends. The years seemed to have little effect on Sid – he continued a life of Masters ski racing, flying in airshows with his buddies from the 69th Battalion, hiking, traveling, climbing, sailing, golf, desert motorcycling, rafting and adventures. His friendships, his work leading the Donnell-Kay Foundation and his off-beat sense of humor endeared him to many, confused the rest and ensured his legacy as a kind, giving, loving and incredibly thoughtful man. Sid Dines will be missed for many, many reasons, but in large part for the huge loss we all feel knowing we have lost our best friend, brother, spouse and father. Sid Dines died of heart failure on Sunday, November 13th, surrounded by family and friends who did not want to let him go. A celebration of his life will be held after the holiday (at the end of January) – and his 70th birthday – and will no doubt go down in the annals of history as a party filled with love and scotch, and stories told and shared of a man who changed lives by deeply and consciously living his own to the fullest. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Marine Corp Scholarship Fund in his name.

Ian Williamson
Lovingly memorialized by Rebecca Williamson on November 16, 2016
Hello,
We never thought we would have to write this..
If you are reading this you will know that my dad, Ian Williamson tragically passed away last weekend on the 13th November 2016.
We have been absolutely amazed as a family with the amount of beautiful messages and stories that we have seen and that have been sent to us over the last few days.
If you do have a spare few minutes to share a story that you had with Ian, or you just want to share a message for us, that would be very much appreciated and we will make sure we read every single one. The love and support from around the United Kingdom and even other countries has touched us deeply and I hope you all know how much they mean to us!
We understand people will want to know about funeral details and we will share them as soon as we know them.
Thank you for your time,
Safe flying everyone
See you in the sky Dad!
We all love you to the moon and back!
Ps, A lot of people have asked if there is going to be a fund page for dad, so we have attached a fund section to this memorial page. We have set the page up for the lovely thoughts and memories, but if you do feel like you want to contribute to a memorial piece, then we will of course be extremely grateful for every penny.
Thank you!

Justin Scott DeMoss
Lovingly memorialized by Carrie DeMoss on November 13, 2016
To all who knew Justin, I ask for loving energy as we grieve his loss. He touched more souls in his short lifetime than he ever understood. He came to this world as a teacher and a student, and all of us helped his soul's journey in some way. He has returned home to God, but his spirit still surrounds us with love and peace.
Months ago, Justin took a leap of faith and moved to Virginia to create a brighter future. He wanted more from life and asked for our help. He began that path by enrolling in massage therapy school in Maryland. He always wanted to help others and share the gift of healing. In the past six weeks of school, he was happy and doing quite well. He also had a new job as a server at a wonderful local restaurant called Copperwood Tavern in Ashburn. He was surrounded by positive new experiences and wonderful new friends. During this time, Justin and we learned the very unfortunate news that his brain tumor had returned. Despite this he stayed strong and committed to his path. But God had other plans for Justin. He died unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep in our home where he was surrounded by constant care, comfort and love. We were blessed to have not only a lifetime with him, but the past three months have been a rare opportunity to make new memories. He leaves behind two beautiful daughters Breanna and Haylee whom he loved so very much. In Justin's honor we have set up a Memorial Trust fund in their behalf.

Ryan Murphy
Lovingly memorialized by Donna Hughes on November 11, 2016
Ryan Murphy...what words are there that can encapsulate the life of a man who touched so many lives with honor, respect, love, and that patented "Murph" humorous style. Ryan's love for his family shaped him from a very young age, it made him into one of the best fathers I have ever known.
He was taken from us way too soon, but he left a legacy of love that will live on through all of us....the ones he loved.

David Vail
Lovingly memorialized by Heather Vail on October 24, 2016
Dave and I lived together since he got diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma cancer 7 years ago. Throughout that time we shared many experiences and memories. We laughed, we cried, we fought, and we laughed again. Dave was one of the wittiest, funniest, most generous, compassionate, caring, and humble people I've ever met. His strength and courage set an example for me to follow. I am blessed to have been his sister and his best friend.
I'll never forget how Dave helped me and guilded me over the years, generously sharing his time and energy. From picking out the perfect hair style for my wedding day to supporting through a horrible job situation. Dave always took great interest in my life helping me cope and work through problems. He had such a selfless nature and way about him.
D was infamous for being a prankster- even during his last stay in the hospital- he was constantly telling jokes about his port being broken, telling people his name was pronounced Daveed. He constantly made bets with the nurses about how quickly he was going to recoup and go home. His charismatic personality and charm made him one of the most lovable people. He made an effort to connect with everyone from homeless people on the street to family, friends and relatives. He enjoyed making people laugh and making light of bad situations. Throughout the past 7 years Dave never complained. He never accepted pity from anyone based on his condition, instead he courageously fought his battle and he won. He beat the odds. That sums up Dave, always striving for more, always exceeding expectations and pushing the limits because of his desire and will. I couldn't be more proud of my brother.
I can go on for hours talking about the kind of person D was but, I think many of you here already know.
On this day and forever more there will be a hole in my heart, a huge void that can only be filled by the moments we shared because he made my life better in every way possible.

Arlene Dawson
Lovingly memorialized by Alexandra Durigon on October 21, 2016
Following a short and very courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene Catherine Dawson on Tuesday, October 18th, 2016. Arlene was born May 11, 1954 in Whitehorse, YT, the daughter of Eric and June Dawson.
Arlene’s family moved to Coquitlam in 1956. She graduated from Centennial High School in 1972. She worked at many places along the way but was at HY Louie for over 20 years. Arlene loved listening to music, watching movies with her family, walking her dog at Mundy Park, and cooking up culinary delights for friends or family. She was an exceptional gardener with an incredible talent and ability for growing stunning gardens. Arlene was a talented artist and her paintings, sketches and drawings that are hanging in her home easily show her passion and gift for art.
Arlene is survived by her loving husband, Livio, mother June, sisters Debbie, Sherry, Heather, brother Eric, children Paul, Robert, and Alexandra, brother- and sister-in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and close friends. She is predeceased by her dear father Eric Dawson and her special friend and beloved dog Harley.
It was such a privilege knowing Arlene; she had that warm caring way about her that gave you a tingle inside. She loved life to the fullest every day. Things will never be the same without our special Arlene.
Her artwork will be on display at her Celebration of Life on Sunday, December 4th, 2016 at the Old Orchard Hall in Port Moody from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Donations may be made in Arlene’s name in lieu of flowers to the B.C.
