Mr. Sloth
Lovingly memorialized by Jessica Phifer on September 30, 2014
Sloths are medium-sized mammals belonging to the families Megalonychidae (two-toed sloth) and Bradypodidae (three-toed sloth), classified into six species. They are part of the order Pilosa and are therefore related to anteaters, which sport a similar set of specialized claws. Extant sloths are arboreal (tree-dwelling) residents of the jungles of Central and South America, and are known for being slow-moving, and hence named "sloths". Extinct sloth species include a few species of aquatic sloths and many ground sloths, some of which attained the size of elephants.
Sloths make a good habitat for other organisms, and a single sloth may be home to moths, beetles, cockroaches, ciliates, fungi, and algae.

Tricia Secretan
Lovingly memorialized by Lance Secretan on September 11, 2014
It's a LOVE Story.
Every once in a while a remarkable spirit touches, blesses and changes our lives. Tricia was such a spirit. Through several years of major surgeries and other medical interventions she repeatedly said how happy and grateful she was for everything in her life. After major surgery in December 2013, she worked hard to transcend the damage that was occurring to her body, and on this domain at least, this proved to be an unequal contest. She sent her bright spirit to join the other brilliant Angels while resting peacefully in our home. Skier, hiker, kayaker, deep thinker, gentle dog lover, astrologer, psychotherapist, artist, teacher, muse, friend, soul-sister, Godmother and incredible life partner, she has left a rich legacy of deep joy, humor, friendship, mentoring, empathy, service, love and intelligence.
Please share your tributes, stories, happy memories as well as your music or videos or pictures – and remember, more than anything, Trish would want you to smile and laugh when you think of her, even through our tears.
If you are interested in making a donation in memory of Tricia, we have arranged for you to do so here: https://brucetrail.org/donations/memorials. We hiked the Bruce Trail every day and I plan to place a memorial bench in her name on the Trail at a spot we named 'Biscuit Point' where Spirit, our beloved family member for 14 years, knew she would always receive a treat.
