Deborah Oluremi Ibironke Aderogba (nee Ogunlolu)

Lovingly memorialized by Blessed on April 21, 2015

Sunday April 19th 2015 would ever remain fresh in our memories, We were shocked beyond words with the news of the passing onto glory of our Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Aunt and Sister,Mrs. Deborah Oluremi Ibironke Aderogba. ( Nee Ogunlolu) Who suddenly without warning, was taken away from us all.

She was a devout Christian, a woman that feared the Lord, a lover of God, a woman of prayer and faith, gentle, peaceful, submissive, full of love, caring, kind hearted, warm, generous and a blessing to a lot of people. She was a loving mother to all, not only to her children and family but to everybody around her.

She has gone to be with the Lord, resting in the bosom of her creator. Though it hurts a lot, but it was God's time. We take solace in God who gaveth

Tillie Laura Deacon

Lovingly memorialized by Sonia Platz on April 20, 2015

This isn’t your traditional memorial, tribute, legacy or obituary. It’s not about who she is survived by. There will be no mention of family remaining, except that the family who loved and cared for her, and who she loved, were with her and there for her in her daily life to the end.
My grandmother, didn’t like her name. She preferred to be known as Laura, not Tillie. Although my grandfather while he was still alive, was the only person allowed to, and who did call her Till or Tillie. I can still hear her talk about how she hated her name and it makes me smile because I always told her I liked it, and thought it was adorable. She would smile at that. My grandmother was a beautiful woman, even up to her last days, her beauty stayed—she didn’t see it, but we all did. She had great, thick wavy dark hair, that later changed to white and the softest skin. I will always remember her smiles and laughter, and the little twinkle she had in her blue-green eyes.
Growing up I have many fond memories with my grandmother, with both my grandparents, really. She liked tending to her little garden in the back yard and spending time on the patio or in the yard having picnics. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, singing (Some Enchanted Evening), watching movies (Sound of Music), and reading. She loved going on scenic drives and going out to lunch with family after church. She loved roses and the smell of roses. She loved to talk and just hang out, hold hands and give hugs. She liked getting dolled up, wearing jewelry and putting on perfume (White Diamonds).
She cooked and entertained guests all the time, everything was made from scratch and she cooked morning, noon and night, for everyone! Pancakes, soups, cakes, casseroles, roasts, stews, you name it, she could cook or bake it. She came from a large family and everyone was always coming over for some reason, and it was always like a celebration and food was always being made for a houseful of guests. She was the hostess with the mostess. Her home was open to everyone all the time it seemed. She kept an impeccably clean home and was always neat and orderly. Wherever she lived, she worked hard to make her house a welcoming home. I will miss going to grandmom’s house, she always had something delicious to share, time to talk, give advice and her opinion.
She was a very talented seamstress and made all sorts of custom designed items, slipcovers, curtains, upholstery, quilts and clothes. She used to sew parachutes and inflatable decoys for the military during WWII.
She was a homemaker and there really wasn’t anything she couldn’t do around the house. She was old-fashioned; industrious, innovative, frugal, creative, smart, witty, funny, brutally honest and at times abrasive and critical.
My grandmother suffered in pain a lot of her life, whether it was physical pain or emotional pain, I can’t remember a time when pain was not prevalent. When I was a little girl, I remember her having a neck injury that left her with neck and back pains and then she had food allergies that would give her migraines. She had severe curvature of the spine, scoliosis, degenerative spine disease, that was left undiagnosed and untreated, until it was way too late to be fixed, which led to numerous other health issues and pains which she suffered throughout her life.
To add to her physical pain, she suffered the loss of two of her children. Her youngest daughter’s remains were found in Las Vegas, she was in her early 20s; she was assumed murdered, unsolved mystery. Her middle daughter, suffered and died of cancerous brain tumors, she was in her mid 30s which left my grandmother to raise her little grand-daughter as her own. Losing two children left my grandmother with a lot of pain in her heart but with God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, she was able to continue with life the best she was able.
I believe she received great joy to have lived to know her great-grandchildren. Cherished family blessings.
Tillie Laura Deacon, was my grandmother, a loving, kind, God-fearing and Jesus-loving woman, who loved her family and loved having us around. We will miss having her with us here on earth, but we know that God has taken her home to live in her new mansion, in her perfect heavenly body, and we will see her in Heaven with Jesus and all the angels.
God Bless you Grandmother, I will always love you and miss you until we see you again in Heaven.

Kenneth George McCarthy

Lovingly memorialized by Shannon Kathleen McCarthy on April 19, 2015

Kenneth George McCarthy
1 June 1939- 17 April 2015

Our father Ken, was born to William George McCarthy and Irene V. Clancy McCarthy on the 1st of June 1939 in Watertown, Massachusetts. He was brother to Donald, Eleanor, and Joseph McCarthy.

He attended Boston College and earned a Bachelor degree in Economics. Upon completion of his degree he entered into the US Navy and attended Preflight School in Pensacola, Florida and Navigational Officers School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He soon became a Navy Flight Officer.

In December 1964 he married Rosemary Beale in Corpus Christi, Texas and together they had three children, William, Shannon and Joseph McCarthy. They lived in Newfoundland, Virginia, Iran and California. Our father conducted three tours in Vietnam as a P3 Navigation Flight Officer and received multiple Commendations for his service (Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for Korean operations, Navy Unit Commendation, three Vietnam service medals, National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal).

Later, as a member of Lockheed Martin Company, he and the family were stationed in Bandar Abbas, Iran, as he was part of the VP31 Iranian training detachment for the Imperial Iranian Air Force (IIAF) who ordered six P-3F Orions from Lockheed Martin.

Upon returning to California, he left Lockheed and began his career in the semi-conductor business and stayed in that industry until he retired at 60. After some time teaching golf in Muscat, Oman, while living with Shannon, he selected Pattaya, Thailand as the location in which he wanted to spend his golden years.

He chose Pattaya primarily for the beautiful climate and the numerous pristine golf courses it offered. Our father was an avid golfer: a day on the course brought him great pleasure.

He loved life and greater than the sorrow of his death is the joy and laughter he spread. He was always there when his family and friends needed him and he always knew how to enjoy the day.

He gave us so much love and kindness, lessons and wisdom, and it is this that will continue to guide us through our lives.

We thank all the friends, the VFW Post 9876, his wife Gob and her family for the warmth and support you showed to our father and us during this tragic time.

May you rest in peace our dear and beloved father. We thank you for all that you gave to us, and so many others. We love you.

Shannon, Joe and Bill McCarthy

Robert Moulton

Lovingly memorialized by Bernita Moulton on April 19, 2015

Dr. Robert James Moulton of Bahama, NC passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015. He passed peacefully at the age of 74, in the company of his loving family. He was born in Trenary, Michigan in 1940.

Bob was a First Lieutenant in the US Army, had a Masters in Forest Management from Syracuse University, and a PhD in Land Management Economics from Michigan State University. He worked for the United States Forest Service for over 30 years. Bob made significant published research contributions on the subjects of reforestation, global climate change, and carbon sequestration. He was passionate about his work and was known for using the simple tagline “Trees are the Answer.”

The blessing to work in a field he loved stemmed from the love of nature and the outdoors that was at the core of who he was outside of his career. To remember Bob in many happy moments is to remember him tending to his rose garden, small orchard or fish pond; or hiking in the woods with his Labrador, Parker; or fishing on Lake Anna or Chincoteague Sound with his family; or fishing tiny streams with his son-in-law. To remember Bob in many of his most deeply satisfying moments is to remember him relaxed among the family he loved and cared for so dearly.

Bob was preceded in death by parents James and Helmi Moulton. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bernita Biebesheimer Moulton; his children, Brian Moulton, Kimberly (John) McManus and Katrina (Chris) Goodman, his sister, Joyce Verma and granddaughters; Avery, Evelyn, Abby and Jane.
