Service Details

From Hillside, IL U.S. Boarded SS Eastland for a picnic held at Western Electric at 7:30 AM with her aunt Agnes Olsen and her older sister Edna (5). Few minutes later because of the weight of passengers, the huge lake steamer rolled to its side in the Chicago river near the docks causing many passengers and crew to drown in the shallow waters or to be crushed by falling furniture. All three perished in the disaster.
