The Story
Margaret was born in Stoke on Trent and was sister to Cyril, Reg and Len, all of whom predeceased her. She grew up in the Potteries, where she met Ron Collier. They were married and eventually moved to Crewe, where they raised their four children, Jill, Roger, Geoff and Pam.
Margaret loved to be involved with local groups and organisations. She was an active member of the Parent Teachers Association. Over the years she has belonged to the U3A, Townswomen’s Guild, over 45’s and latterly, the local History Group.
Gardening and photography were two of her biggest loves. Her gardens were often admired and she loved to travel around the UK visiting many of the beautiful public gardens.
Unfortunately, Margaret was widowed at 47. She did however go on later in life to find happiness again with Tony Bloss, with whom she was married, until his untimely death just a few years after they found each other.
Margaret had been living with Cancer for 10 years and managed to keep active for the most part, with help from Family and neighbors and friends. A big thank you to the staff at the Leighton Hospital Macmillan Centre who have been supportive throughout. This year, however, was a challenge. It is a testament to her character that despite a broken hip and Covid she made it to 88 years before succumbing. RIP Mum.
