I met John on our first day at high school. We were great pals from the start, but after I moved away to train as a chemistry and science teacher – and then 30 years at “Queen Elizabeth High School” (QEHS) Calgary – we lost touch. I knew John during my university years and was honoured to count him as a friend and to know his kindness and experience his wacky sense of humour! I have great memories of his various classic cars, about which he waxed poetic, and of driving through snowstorms in pursuit of yet another ski adventure. And many fishy stories involving sushi! I am glad he is in a better place, after years of suffering. Rest in peace, my friend, and I am so glad to have known you!
