The Story
Gwenolyn Plumlee LeFor, 100, passed from this life peacefully on January 20, 2016 in Sun City West, Arizona to join her loved ones who went before her. She was born in Oxford, Kansas, on June 28, 1915. Gwen lived many years in the northwest near Seattle and spent her latter years in Arizona.
Gwen was a warm, genuine, friendly person, and no one could be around her without feeling a greater joy in the moment. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed playing games, especially Bingo, listening to music, watching sports and being with her family. All of her kin were blessed to have had such a precious member of their family.
Gwen was survived by her son, Gerald A. Plumlee and wife, Dawn Anita; her daughter, Yvonna Marie Weiss and husband, Gary; her son, Claude A. Plumlee, and daughter-in-law Sharon M. Plumlee, and her daughter, Sharon Kay Sands and significant other, Gretchen Gfroerer. She was also survived by 16 grandchildren, namely: Mike Plumlee, Shawn Plumlee, Kevin Plumlee, Richard L. Plumlee, Sharmiane Woodall, Wynonna Dillon, Jerry Don Plumlee, Priscilla Plumlee, Terri Cook, Mark Weiss, Duane Weiss, Tina Weiss, Tamara Latham, Margaret Clements, Jeff Plumlee and Eric Plumlee. She was also survived by her sister, Eula Knox, and many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Gwen was predeceased by her son, Richard L. Plumlee, and her grandson, Scott G. Weiss, and three sisters, Jean Sands, Anita Sands and Teresa Elam.
