Service Details

A memorial mass is scheduled for May 12, 2015 at Our Lady of Ransom Church 6700 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19149. Father Edward Rauch will officiate the ceremony. Friends and family may call at Our Lady of Ransom Church from 8:45- 9:45 am. All are welcome to attend the mass starting at 10 am to celebrate George's life. Following, the burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020

In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's memory may be made to the to Saint Jude Children's Hospital at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 800-873-6983 or donate online at www.stjude.org/tributes


The Story

George is survived by his daughter Tina Wardle (Timothy) of Port Saint Lucie FL, four sons, Dennis (Nancy), Kenneth (the late Suzanne), Timothy (Susan), Glen (Ruth) all of Philadelphia, PA, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandson along with several nieces and nephews and longtime friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Pauline, his daughter Penny Hearn and his granddaughter Julie Silvasy Pure.

George was born on September 23, 1920 in Philadelphia PA to George and Alizabeth. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1938 and served in the U.S army during World War II.

He was a member of the American legion and dedicated member of Our Lady of Ransom Church.

Another angel to watch over us. I was so blessed to have so many wonderful memories of my grandfather George. And even more so blessed that he was able to celebrate in his great-granddaughter's celebration of baptism. Alexa gets her love of coin collecting from George and we will forever have him in our memory. We will miss him terribly.
