The Story
Just like everyone I had no control over who my parents happened to be; but still managed to hit the jackpot upon my conception.
It is an honour and a privilege to have Amope Silifatu Sanusi as my nurturer and mother.
Not just for adorable attributes including simplicity, honesty and transparent humility.
Through the challenges and triumphs of life Maami remained courageous, prayerful, joyful, and very hard working.
I solemnly assert in humility that it is unbelievably improbable to encounter many born of a woman more patient, optimistic, meek and long-suffering in the face of adversity.
She did so much good for people, delighting in their progress, fulfilment and happiness.
With speech adorned in encouragement, exhortation and friendliness, she spontaneously said a prayer every few breaths.
Her conduct demonstrated the meaning of a clean heart in-dwelt by the Spirit of God.
Her heart was perpetually filled with praise to God. Her mind marvelled at the wondrous works of His creation, responding in praise and exhalation of His name.
Her inability to hold a grudge; her incomprehensible generousity; her compulsion to do something good for anybody-and-everybody; remain formidable and inspirational examples, setting the lofty standards to which I aspire.
She heeded the invitation of God and became His child, friend, servant and lover: by faith and constant confession of Jesus Christ as her saviour.
Mama’s modesty, compassion, and godly humour will be missed. Her gift of reconciliation, healing, and drive to generate aspiration, and encourage families toward Godliness and achievement will never be forgotten. The effects of her unending travail in the place of prayer and good deeds are eternal.
We feel honoured, blessed and privileged to have had, held and loved you as mother. We are proud you trusted God and called Him to the end. Your spirit has gone to God, and your soul lives on in blissful communion with your maker. In due course alongside all the saints of God sleeping in Christ Jesus we shall be together eternally with God.
Your six children, your twelve granddaughters and your seven grandsons will miss you!

Recently you sang this prophetic song of gratitude in praise of our God rather frequently…………
“E she ibi te ti bere. E she ibi te ba de. A dupe o Jesu. Ibi te n mu mi lo”
Translation: 'Thank You for where you started. Thank You for where You got. I'm grateful Jesus, for where You are taking me"
You went home to God far too early!
We shall be together again at the feet of Jesus: never again to part.

Yomi Sanusi
Mama was a strong woman of valour.
Her life was absolutely Christ like, praying without seizing.
She was a mummy to us all.
Very hardworking, humble, appreciative and selfless to say but a few.
She went out of her way to help people. Such was her friendliness that not even language barriers prevented her from making friends, even in a place like England.
The best mother in-law I could ever have asked for!
We prayed together, ate, cooked, went shopping and outing together. I learnt all that I know about raising children from her. She was the best grandmother to our children. Even the cold of winter did not stop Mama from taking her grandchildren out and about.
These are loving memories that we will always cherish. My eyes flood with tears just thinking about all these. To us you have gone too soon.
We still had so much planned to do for you and with you.
We will always love you, Mama. We are consoled that God loves you more and that you have gone to be with Him.
Rest in peace till we meet again.
Proverbs 31:10. “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.”.
Galatians 5:22 -23. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, 12. “To everything there is a season and time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time topluck up that which is planted. …..I know that there is no good in them but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.”
