The Story
Robert “Bob” Eugene Paxson, 89, was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on November 27, 1927, the son of Earl Floyd and Lillian May Tignor Paxson . He died on March 24, 2017 at Zanesville Health and Rehab Hospice Unit.
Surviving are his wife, Julia Moore Paxson of Zanesville, two daughters, Sharon Sue (Steve) Tinnell of Holly Hill, Florida, Amanda (Jason) Paxson Hayes of Zanesville and one son, Daniel (Tina Earny) Paxson of Zanesville, and stepsons, James (Dawn Carpenter) Paxson and Robbie Young of Columbus, Ohio. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was employed by Eclipse Laundry and then with Omega Cleaners as a delivery driver.
He played with a variety of bands, would fill in as a substitute with some bands. His main band before retiring from music was 'The Gold Nuggets'. Bob played the steel guitar locally and was was among the first group inducted into the Muskingum County Country Music Hall of Fame.
Bob requested that his body was donated to Wright University of Dayton, Ohio, in hopes to help students learn and that no memorial be held.
