The service was a small gathering at my home with friends and family on April 19,2014. Chaplin Zullie Franco from Nathan Adelson Hospice officiated. It was such a joy to know that my baby girl was sent HOME by people who loved her.

The Story

Brooklynn Grace, who was born a full term baby, began her earthly life on January 31, 2014 at 7:54am via an emergency C-section as her heart rate dropped drastically. She was in the NICU at Summerlin Hospital but wasnt doing to well, so she was transferred to Sunrise Childrens Hospital NICU where she stayed for 2 months thriving. She came home and blessed my family for a week and then went HOME to be with Jesus. Brooklynn Grace passed away on April 5th.

Brooklynn was diagnosed with a genetic disorder called trisomy 18. This is when the chromosomes split into 3 on the #18 chromosome instead of two. This is said to be not compatible with life or if they survive pregnancy the life expectancy is 1 minute to 1 year. When a mother finds out her baby has this often times doctors will recommend she, and family terminate pregnancy because of the medical complications associated with this. But I chose to give my baby a fighting chance and she overcame many of the obstacles put before her. She amazed the medical staff at the hospital and gave me so much hope. Unfortunately as well as she was doing she fought a fight that she shouldn't have had to and lost her battle to her condition.

Thank you for coming down and blessing us with ur presence. Your a true hero and I will forever be grateful to u for showing and teaching me how to b strong. U drew me close to God and taught me more in two months then in my forty plus years. I love u Brooklynn Grace sleep well my angel!
