The Story

Ollie Mitchell, Jr.; the eldest son of the late Ollie Mitchell,Sr. and Erin M. Wabbington Mitchell was born in Alabama. Ollie had four brothers( Albert, J.C. and Willie Mitchell) and two sisters
(Annie M. Mitchell Sanders and Ernestine Mitchell Posey}. All of Ollie's siblings have crossed over from Earth to Eternal Life with the exception of his younger brother Mr. Booker T. Mitchell of Mississippi.
After his foundation education, Ollie attended and graduated from Southern University, Baton Rouge. He used his university education to become a Teacher in the Louisiana School System. He served his Country with the United States Navy and United States Air Force.
Every Great Man Understands the importance of Love and Family. Ollie fell in love and married Lela Bell and remained joined in love with Lela until Death. From this love, one son was born (Ollie Mitchell, III).
Ollie Mitchell, Jr. was a concerned citizen in his community, active in his church and in other organizations. He loved working with his hands and he loved working on behalf of his community with interacting with progressive minded people.
His great hobby was taking photographs. Left to cherish a lifetime of great memories is his wife of 63 years, Lela Bell Mitchell; his son Ollie Mitchell, III, his loving grandchildren, his brother Booker T. Mitchell of Mississippi, his Sister-in-Love Mrs. Jonnie Mitchell of California, his nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, his longtime neighbors and numerous friends.
