The Story
At the end of our life, we shall be remembered for our love.
Shirley came into the world as the beloved child of Elizabeth and Harold Scholz, along with her siblings Paula, Tom, and Karin. Growing up, she especially adored dance and ultimately performed with the award-winning McCluer High School pompom squad. After nursing school, Shirley excelled through a 32-year career in pharmaceutical sales with Roche/Genentech; she generously mentored younger salespeople, earned top sales awards, and was beloved by her colleagues as well as the doctors and staff she called on. Shirley danced with passion and flair, golfed with extraordinary skill, wielded a sewing machine like a pro, and brought her eye for beauty to her interior decorating. She affirmed her friends, and she made us laugh with her clever sense of humor. In her last years she focussed on giving back to others in need through her volunteer work. Above all, Shirley’s legacy is one of genuine commitment and love for her friends and family. She is remembered for her vivacious spunk, her joyous laugh, and her giving heart.
We invite you post your remembrance of Shirley, your favorite story about her, or photos, videos, or music, for family and friends to enjoy.
For those wishing to honor Shirley’s memory, we invite you to contribute to Planned Parenthood or the charity of your choice.
